| Charles Booth's 1889 Poverty Maps of
London |
|
These maps show each street colour-coded to
indicate the economic condition of the inhabitants and can be seen on-line via
The University of Michigan site. The maps accompanied his famous social survey
of London.

The East London History Society, (founded
1952) exists to further interest in the history of East London, namely the
London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham.

| Greenwood's Map of London

|
On-line version of Greenwood's map which
covers London and surroundings and stretches out to the River Lea and Greenwich
in the East. The map is displayed complete and then in "panels" - you
can zoom in and out and move around using control arrows.

| The Krays |
|
Site created "in an attempt to put the
record straight about the Krays". Ronnie and Reggie Krays were two
notorious gangsters from Vallance Road, Bethnal Green, in the 1960s. One is now
dead but Reggie Kray is still in prison. This site is part of a campaign to win
his release.
