MAXIMILIAN II KING OF BAVARIA

Integral moulded rim with edges of leaves untrimmed. Has the look of the resin mouldings but the back is typical of an unfinished Bois Durci item.

MEYERBEER

Usual 'BOIS DURCI' mark with reversed 1 over 2 mark. No rim.

MOLIERE

Mounted within a turned wooden collar. Back stippled with no markings. Engravers mark is a short twisted bar.

Late resin moulding. Within moulded wreath. 'T.I.S.' reversed within dish shaped depression on back.

Same design as Bois Durci plaque but made from Pressed Pine without the engravers mark.

Same portrait as Bois Durci but made in a Papier Mache like material covered ina thin wood veneer and varnished. No engravers mark. Design recessed on back.

Usual 'BOI DURCI' mark. Reversed '.V.II.' mark. No rim.

Same design as Bois Durci but thin Brass painted Black and filled with Pitch. Has usual engravers mark.

Later three quarter facing portrait. Back unmarked with slight circular recess.

Back fairly smooth with usual 'BOIS DURCI' mark and reversed '2'. No rim. Was painted Gold when purchased. This was assumed to be modern and was removed.
